Doctors and Staff

David S. Doka, M.D.

Dr. Doka has been privileged to care for the eye health of El Pasoans, both children and adults, since 1983. He completed his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine with Honors and ophthalmology residency at University of Illinois. Further fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at the University of Iowa and subspecialty training in cataract, lens implantation, and laser refractive surgery have been accomplished. Board Certified in Ophthalmology, Dr. Doka is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Doka has been honored by his fellow physicians by being selected as among America's Best Doctors.

Dr. Doka cares for patients of all ages. He has a special focus on laser refractive surgery and cataract surgery with lens implantation. Dr. Doka emphasizes compassionate and individualized care for every patient he is privileged to provide eye care.

Carlos W. Vazquez, M.D.

Dr. Carlos W. Vazquez has been practicing in El Paso since 1998. He received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico, USA, graduating with high honors. He did an internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Puerto Rico in 1996.

Dr. Vazquez received additional training in neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastic and orbital diseases at the University of Minnesota and a second fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at University of Miami (considered to be one of the best eye hospitals in the USA in the last 5 years). Dr. Vazquez is a clinical professor of ophthalmology at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Vazquez field of expertise are general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, medical treatment of glaucoma and screening for diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Vazquez has training in pediatric ophthalmology with emphasis in diagnosis and treatment of amblyopia and strabismus in children.
